January is a time when sometimes I give myself the creeps and sometimes my mind plays tricks on me so why not quell the scaries by seeing two-thirds of Green Day belt out some covers at a small venue in London?
The Coverups are returning for another intimate show in London as they take to the Islington Academy on January 15, 2025 for another raucous and celebratory set of – you guessed it – covers.

How do I get tickets to the Coverups show?
Pre-sale began on O2 Priority but tickets allocated here have now been swept up. Your final hope rests on the General Admission sale, which takes place tomorrow at 10am. You can find tickets on sale here, and you’ll need to act quickly to snap them up!
Wait, so who are the Coverups?
A big ol’ slice of Green Day, featuring both Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt as well as the group’s touring member Jason White, their tour manager Bill Schneider, their audio engineer Chris Dugan and Influents guitarist Greg Schneider.
After forming in 2018, the band played their first gigs in London last year, with a pair of nights at the Highbury Garage and the 100 Club. Fans were treated to a set of frantic covers that ranged from The Clash to Hole (with Courtney Love herself) to Cheap Trick to Nirvana to the Misfits. Let’s see what they have planned for London this time around.
It comes before the full Green Day lineup returns to the UK to headline Download Festival at Donnington Park in June 2025.
The Coverups play O2 Islington Academy on January 15, 2025. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10am, and you can find them here.
