With five skilled local musicians taking to the stage, this 60-minute show in London will light up the night as LED lights leap through iconic soundtracks you’re bound to recognise; There will also be luminous takes on songs from Iron Man 3, plus Jake’s First Flight and Test Drive from How To Train Your Dragon. As long as you’re over 8 years old, you can come and let the power of the drums lead you through a rhythm-packed ride you won’t forget.
Why are drums so powerful?
Rhythm is everywhere: in the beating of our hearts, the cadence of our steps, even in the steady breath that keeps us alive. And as an instrument of pure expression, the drum breaks free from oppression, silence, and limitation. Since the golden age of jazz, it has stood as a symbol of liberation and individuality. It is a visceral act — one that reconnects us with something primal, flooding our bodies with endorphins.
Across cultures and centuries, the drum has always been a tool for truth in the call for just empowerment and reconnection. At The Colorbeat Drums, they’ll return to exactly that: a night of pulsing rhythm and LED-lit emotion, where sound, colour and light fuse in an unforgettable release.
With a little bit of imagination, the film industry’s most iconic soundtracks will be remixed and reimagined in colour. Your senses won’t just be heightened by sound, but by the glimmer of dancing lights, too.
Set in The Shaw Theatre venue in London on key dates, the show will open its doors 30 minutes before each performance (one at 7pm and the other at 9pm), giving you time to grab a drink from the bar, find your seat and settle in for the show while the anticipation begins to build.
