If you’re still (im)patiently waiting for your Hogwarts acceptance letter to be shoved through the letterbox; here’s something that will keep you busy (and boozy) in the meantime. Dust off your spellbooks, folks, because we’re going potion making.
Prepare to don some rather ravishing robes and wave around an actual magic wand for an hour or two at one of London’s most spellbinding spots, The Cauldron. This magically immersive experience invites Londoners to leave the mundanity of the muggle world at the door, and embark on an enchanting adventure into the wizarding world.
After kitting yourself out with an outfit to rival Harry Potter‘s, you’ll get to cast a spell on a unicorn to receive your first drink (because, well… why not) before heading over to your potion-making station. The Cauldron’s bewitching potion-making experience uses some pretty impressive molecular mixology to create what seems like pure-and-utter magic. Armed with a treasure trove of ingredients, a working magic wand, potion-making instructions, and – of course – a magic cauldron; guests will then have an hour and 45 minutes to concoct two delicious and downright spellbinding cocktails.
Halloween at The Cauldron
‘Tis the season for witches, wizards and magical beings to thrive, and so The Cauldron Bar is obviously celebrating in style. Throughout October, guests will be trick-or-treated to a whole host of creepy concoctions, including a ‘Slimey Pear Margarita’ (a UV-reactive, glow in the dark potion with edible pumpkin-spiced slime), and ‘Sookie’s Sangria’ (a white wine sangria cocktail that comes complete with a syringe full of blood). On top of the Halloween potion-making experience, The Cauldron is also hosting a magical afternoon tea, featuring plenty of spooky treats and brew-your-own teas (with interactive wands, of course).
If you’re looking for an enchanting escape from the capital city, becoming a real life witch or wizard seems like a pretty wand-erful option to me. Swish and flick your way to The Cauldron Bar this spooky season.
