Lawn bowling has a long old history in England—having been around since the 13th century—and The Bowls Club have given it a fresh new twist with summer cocktails, street food, and live music and entertainment to boot!
The game itself is simple; the aim is to roll balls and try and get them as close as possible to a smaller ball often called a ‘jack’. The Bowls Club have amped up the sport with a shorter and faster form of the traditional game; turning up the pressure and making the competition even more interesting. They’ve got two gorgeous London venues in the heart of the city; their OG location in Finsbury Square and a brand spanking new one in Battersea Park.
The experience starts with a welcome drink presented to you as the trusty Bowls Club hosts show to your group’s reserved area. Live music plays and delicious smells from the street food vendors waft over the lawn that has been freshly cut. Idyllic, right? Food and drink vouchers are then handed out to get you started on some grub and get the drinks flowing.
The food offering at The Bowls Club features some of the best street food vendors in the city, including Casa 00 with their fresh handmade Italian pastas, Chingnon Tacos bringing all the Mexican vibes, and Bertotti for some glorious scoops of artisanal gelato, perfect for a summer’s evening spent outdoors. The drinks menu has white, rosé, and sparkling wine, draught beer, and various spirits, as well as some classic cocktails on offer for you to sip away the evening. With a lawn bowl in one hand and an ice-cold drink on the other – what could be a better way to spend a summer’s afternoon?
The Bowls Club caters for groups with between 8-499 people, making it a great shout for an alternative team-building activity. And with the simplicity of the game, it’s an inclusive choice for any physical ability. It’s a fun new way to boost morale and get colleagues and friends to reconnect, all whilst participating in a charitable event. Did we mention that a proportion of all ticket prices go towards a charity partner?
There are a number of different packages on offer. All include 50 minutes of bowling time with different packages offering varying amounts of food and drink vouchers, team photo options, and packages with exclusive areas and dedicated hosts for your group. No matter what you’re after, The Bowls Club have you covered.
