With her melodic love songs and semi-biographical lyrics, Taylor Swift’s tunes have inspired fans for around 15 years. From pop to country, you may think you’ve heard all of Swift’s music styles, but wow, do we have a treat for you.
We might need to rename August at Southwark Cathedral to something a little more Taylor Swift themed. On August 25 & 29 (Bank Holiday Monday), Taylor Swift’s biggest hits will be getting the classical treatment at a Taylor Swift candlelight concert, performed right here in London. What’s more, the grand Southwark Cathedral will be the location of this enchanting event, and beautiful flickering candles will surround the live string quartet. If that’s not enough, the show is back again on September 2, so there’s no excuses for any of you Swifties not to make one of these. You won’t want to miss this, so snap up your tickets now!
From her 2008 single, Love Story, to the feel-good Shake It Off, the I Knew You Were Trouble artist has had many hits this side of the pond. As you listen to the talented string quartet, City String Ensemble, play the recognisable tunes at this centuries-old venue, you’ll be able to reminisce on an impressive backlog of music. The setlist at this Taylor Swift candlelight concert will include Blank Space, Cardigan, and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, amongst others.
Taking over the cathedral for two performances on each of the evenings, City String Ensemble will leave you thoroughly Enchanted as they perform Swift’s chart-topping hits, under the high ceilings, and imposing arches of the church – it makes for a fascinating backdrop to the quartet’s intimate 65-minute set. To avoid Bad Blood between you and your fellow Swifties, nab a ticket for this incredible night of music here.
