If you’re someone who punctuates every meal with a period of fantasising about your next feast, there’s a food festival landing in London that you simply cannot miss out on. Yes, that’s right – Taste of London is returning to Regent’s Park from June 14-18 this summer. And yes, that is the sound of our stomachs rumbling in anticipation that you hear from afar.
You know that ever-growing list of recommended restaurants that you promise yourself you’re going to visit one day? Imagine the sublime satisfaction of ticking off a load in one fell swoop. Across five delicious days, you’ll have access to some of London’s finest culinary creators right at your fingertips. So you better bring your appetite, because there’ll be over 150 dishes at your disposal (including some special exclusive eats!).
Prepare to experience flavours and aromas from the world over, as you explore the mastery of 36 restaurants, 50 chefs and 150 artisan producers. New treats to tickle your taste buds at this year’s festival include Sicilian-inspired fare from Norma, flavour-packed vegan Caribbean dishes from Jam Delish and a full on Italian extravaganza from Big Mamma Group. And do not say goodbye without visiting Dim Sum Terrace, a new concept recently opened in Harrods.
Of course, the festival will also be stuffed to the brim with the foodie favourites from years gone by (they’re regulars for a reason!). From award-winning Sri Lankan and South Indian cuisine at Hoppers, to reimagined Izakaya at Flesh & Buns, you’ll find outstanding options everywhere you turn. If you feel like indulging in a little surf and turf, head to Burger and Lobster. Or succumb to the irresistible smells wafting toward you from Singaporean and Malaysian street food specialist, Roti King. And to think, we haven’t even touched on the drinks yet…
When your whistle inevitably needs wetting, you’ll not be disappointed with the fantastic variety of summertime tipples on offer at Taste of London festival. Whether it’s a G&T at the Schweppes Cocktail Bar, a frozen paloma or a Tommy’s Margarita from el Jimador Tequila, you’ll be well equipped to toast to the good times all day long. Beer and cider lovers can quench their thirst at the Aspall Cyder House and the Menabrea Alpine Bar. And if you’re looking to capture some snaps whilst you sip, head to BLOOM Gin Utopia, complete with gorgeous backdrops and a live pianist.
There’ll also be tons of opportunities to get stuck in and learn more about your fave foods, at expert-led interactive masterclasses. Watch some of the biggest names in Portuguese gastronomy showcase their signature dishes – including JOIA’s Henrique Passoa and Lisboeta’s Nuno Mendes giving live cooking demos over open flames at the Flames of Portugal Churrasco Cook School. And if that puts a fire in your belly, The GetYourGuide Fire Pit will also be hosting demos from some of London’s most esteemed chefs. If you want to take your learnings one step further, book yourself a space at the GetYourGuide Cook School and take home a wealth of tips and tricks from a five star lineup.
