What can you expect at SURFACE?
This special exhibition offers a glimpse of collaboration between the world of street art and the vision of the talented Danish photographer. Solkær has previously created iconic portraits of music stars like Amy Winehouse and Adele. SURFACE features powerful artists, including Shepard Fairey (of the OBEY and Obama ‘Hope’ fame) and Invader (known for his mosaic tile works).
The core of the experience is a series of cinematic, large-scale photographic portraits created in Solkær’s signature style, heavily influenced by film and painting. Each image is carefully staged with on-site lighting and strong storytelling. The experience creates a striking, larger-than-life atmosphere. Every artist is photographed alongside their work, using masks or props, offering a rare side of the world’s most secretive creative communities. Are you ready to step into this mysterious world of art?

You can find SURFACE at a centrally located Sussex Mansions – the same central venue that hosts Banksy’s acclaimed exhibition – ensuring easy access for art and photography enthusiasts. Enjoy an internationally acclaimed photographer’s exhibition located on the Old Brompton Road, just a short walk from South Kensington Underground Station. Don’t miss your chance to experience a distinctive blend of drama and intimacy from one of the most influential portrait photographers of his generation.
