We’ve all been there: you’re booking a much-needed summer vacation, and there’s a decision to be made. Do you save some money and opt for the much earlier flight out of Stansted Airport? Or do you pay for the convenience of being able to sleep properly, and then make your way to the airport for an afternoon flight? What if you can’t find transport at 3 in the morning, when you need to get to the airport?
Well, that decision is about to get a lot easier thanks to a new night-time express train that will whisk travellers to Stansted Airport in the wee small hours of the morning (and evening).
Late-night trains to (and from) Stansted Airport
This summer, the Stansted Express will be operating trains throughout the night on Friday night through to Saturday morning. The late-night train service kicked off last week and will run through to September 25. The new Friday night-time schedule includes new services for the airport to and from both Tottenham Hale and Liverpool Street Station.
Most of the new trains will run between Stansted Airport and Tottenham Hale. This allows travellers to make their way into London via the Victoria line (which operates Night Tube services).
New train times
Previously, the last Stansted Express train departed from Liverpool Street Station at 11:21pm on Fridays. There are new services from Liverpool Street Station at

There are also new trains running from Tottenham Hale at the following times:

- 02:05
- 02:35
- 03:05
- 03:35
Travelling into London from the airport, these trains are now operating:
- 01:00 – Tottenham Hale
- 01:30 – Tottenham Hale
- 02:11 – Tottenham Hale
- 02:30 – Tottenham Hale
- 03:00 – Tottenham Hale
- 03:30 – London Liverpool Street
- 04:00 – London Liverpool Street
- 04:20 – London Liverpool Street
- 04:45 – London Liverpool Street
The new night-time service on the Stansted Express runs on Friday nights/Saturday mornings. It will operate until September 25. If the new schedule is successful, it’s possible that the service will be extended.
