If you were in Trafalgar Square recently and thought you saw a group of Squid Game guards lurking about, you weren’t just imagining. The masked enforcers were out surveying Brits after nearly a quarter claimed they’d win the game.
The stunt marked the launch of Squid Game The Experience, an immersive live event that recently opened at ExceL London, where you can finally put your survival skills to the test. Minus the deadly consequences, of course… The live experience gives players a chance to navigate challenges inspired by the show’s infamous games, facing off against others to see who’ll make it to the end. Or who gets eliminated.
It turns out plenty of Brits genuinely believe they’d win the real game. New research commissioned by Squid Game The Experience found that more than a quarter of us (27% actually) are confident they would survive to win.
Men were particularly bold, with over 36% backing themselves to take home the prize compared to 18% of women. Londoners, naturally, were the most self-assured in the country, claiming they would definitely emerge victorious. Of course, Cambridge and Manchester were no less confident. But the most interesting part is that lots of us would take things a bit further and even happily betray others for the prize. Wouldn’t want to play Red Light, Green Light around them for sure…
So if you’re one of the confident few, this might be your chance to prove it. Squid Games The Experience has recently opened in the London Waterfront venue. Expect tense challenges, strategic decision-making and plenty of pink-jumped guards watching your every move. Just remember – in this one, you might lose a little pride, not your life.
