These Spice Girls cocktails have arrived, and we Wannabe drinking them.
Obviously, the biggest event in the London music calendar this year is the Spice Girls reunion tour, arriving in London on June 13th. We’re excited, you’re excited, and the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel are excited – clearly, because they’ve concocted a range of Spice Girls cocktails in anticipation of the big get-together.
It’s not all that surprising, given that the St Pancras Renaissance famously has a little slice of Spice Girls history: the hotel was used as the setting for their 1996 single Wannabe (👆 ), including the very Instagrammable staircase. In fact, the staircase forms a major part of the hotel’s Wannabe Suite package, which nets you a suite for the night, a private photoshoot on the stairs with the hotel photographer, and a cocktail making class.
Their ‘Re-Spiced’ cocktails honour each member of the fab five, despite the obvious awkwardness of Posh choosing to sit the reunion out. She’s got a cocktail called
Traitor Posh On The Rocks, flavoured with citrus vodka and elderflower, and garnished with gold leaf petals.
Ginger Spice is honoured with the Ginger Kick, a Campari, Aperol, and ginger beer creation, decorated with a Union Jack bowtie in a nod to That Dress. Other cocktails include the Bloody Scary, made with chilli Mezcal and strawberry puree, a football-inspired Good Sport, and the Baby Colada mocktail. and They’ll set you back roughly £14, and you’ll find them at the hotel’s Booking Office bar – Say You’ll Be There!
