Fill your face with fondue in picture-perfect snow globes overlooking the Thames.
As we approach the colder months, cosy bars and events are starting to pop up left, right and centre. But we’re not complaining, because winter generally equals hot toddies and melted cheese.
Open now, Jimmy Garcia’s Lodge on the River has returned with its impressive, Thames-side alpine pop-up, including those infamous (or rather, Insta-famous) snow globes.
Step inside The Refuge, a cosy wooden cabin complete with twinkling lights and stunning views of the London skyline, and tuck into gooey fondue (or a vegan, mushroom-based alternative) and sharing flasks of hot cocktails. New this year, you’ll also find a menu of delicious steaks, which you’re able to cook exactly to your liking on hot stones, alongside scrummy sides and sauces.
There’s also an Alpine Bar serving up winter warmers, and a ground-level Chalet Snack Bar, where guests can order festive street food rather than having a sit-down meal. The line-up there will include the Lodge Raclette Burger, a Venison Hot Dog, Schnitzel and Cheesy Chips. DELICIOUS.
Beside the lodge you’ll find four beautiful snow globes made for private dining experiences, each seating 6-10 people. This year, they’ve been decked out by interior heroes MADE.COM, giving them an even lovelier, extra cosy cabin feel.
