Jimmy's Lodge

Fill your face with fondue in picture-perfect snow globes overlooking the Thames at Jimmy’s Lodge.

As we approach the colder months, cosy bars and pop-ups tend to start appearing left, right and centre. But we’re not complaining, because winter generally equates to hot toddies and melted cheese. 2020 hasn’t been the most festive of years, but there are still 70-odd days left to go, and you can bet that we’ll be rinsing them for all they are worth.

Back a whole month earlier than last year, Jimmy Garcia’s Lodge on the River has brought its impressive, Thames-side alpine pop-up to town, including those infamous (or rather, Insta-famous) snow globes.

Step inside The Refuge, a cosy wooden cabin complete with twinkling lights and stunning views of the London skyline, and tuck into gooey fondue and sharing flasks of hot cocktails. Returning after a successful debut in 2018, you’ll also find a menu of delicious steaks, which you’re able to cook exactly to your liking on hot stones, alongside scrummy sides and sauces.

There’s also an Alpine Bar serving up winter warmers, and a ground-level Chalet Snack Bar, where guests can order festive street food rather than having a sit-down meal. The line-up there includes the Lodge Raclette Burger, a Venison Hot Dog, Schnitzel and Cheesy Chips. DELICIOUS.

Beside the lodge you’ll find four beautiful snow globes made for private dining experiences, each seating up to six people, in line with social distancing rules. It’s the perfect spot for Christmas get togethers and festive parties – and guests can even plug in their own playlist as they tuck into gourmet food.
