The hit gospel musical is gracing the West End stage once again to bring a choir of singing and dancing nuns to the Dominion Theatre this spring. Sister Act is coming back with a bang, having just confirmed its glittering cast for its return on March 15.
Reprising their leading role as Deloris van Cartier, the former nightclub singer who’s forced to take refuge in a Catholic convent to escape the murderous gangster ex and the mob, will be the ever-talented Beverley Knight who will play Deloris from March 15 to June 8 and the one and only Alexandra Burke who will play Deloris from June 10 to August 31.
The pair are no strangers to the role as Knight took the lead at the musical’s run in the Apollo Theatre in 2022, whilst Burke took on the role in 2016 during a national tour of the musical. Ruth Jones, who you may recognise from a little show called Gavin & Stacy, will be taking on the role of Mother Superior, with Lesley Joseph as Sister Mary Lazarus, Lemar as Curtis Jackson, and Clive Rowe as Eddie Souther.
Completing the company are Lizzie Bea as Sister Mary Robert, Alison Jiear as Sister Mary Patrick, and Carl Mullaneyas Monsignor O’Hara, will be Caroline Bateson, Natalia Brown, Damian Buhagiar, Tricia Deighton, Lori Haley Fox, Lauren Hall, Chloe Hopcroft, Tom Hopcroft, Bradley Judge, Claudia Kariuki, Graham MacDuff, Castell Parker, Emma Ralston, Anne Smith, Michael Ward and Jermaine Woods.
Based on the iconic movie, the stage production will be a sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, sisterhood and music tells the hilarious story of the disco diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a murder.
It’s a star-studded cast that you wouldn’t want to miss, and luckily the production will be hitting the stage very very soon on March 15. For more information and to book tickets, head here.
