Love will be (particularly high up) in the air this weekend, as one of London’s most legendary landmarks has confirmed that it will, once again, light up for Valentine’s Day. On February 14, The Shard will glow red and illuminate the city’s skyline with a huge pink heart to mark the most romantic day of the year. Isn’t that lovely?
The iconic 310-metre structure will be oozing romance from top to bottom to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The idyllic illumination on the building’s exterior will serve as the perfect backdrop for loved-up Londoners, but there will be a whole host of lovey-dovey goings-on taking place inside, too.
Valentine’s Day at The Shard
Home to many of London’s swankiest establishments, The Shard is certainly going all out for the day of love. From a romantic escape at the Shangri-La hotel (complete with rose petals and champers, of course) or a Valentine’s Day sharing menu at TĪNG restaurant to specially-created romantic desserts at Aqua Shard and an immersive ‘Love through the Senses’ cocktail experience at Oblix; love is at top of The Shard’s weekend agenda.
So, for those of you who don’t plan on spending Valentine’s Day sat in bed, watching Bridget Jones, and silently sobbing into a share-bag of chocolate buttons as you do so (not that I’m speaking from experience, or anything); consider your romantic plans well and truly sorted.
