Celebrate the last few weeks of 2019 at London’s highest hotel, with incredible views over the city.
Shangri-La Hotel is the city’s highest hotel, located within one of London’s most iconic buildings. They’re hosting all sorts of festivities this party season, and all we can think of is the dreamy firework views on New Year’s Eve!
We’ll start with Christmas though, since I value chronology very highly. TĪNG Restaurant on the 35th floor are hosting a lovely Christmas Eve Dinner, featuring the likes of feathered game terrine, venison loin and Cornish halibut, paired with fine wines. A fantastic way to get into the Christmas spirit! (Although if you’re not feeling Christmassy on Christmas Eve, perhaps all hope is lost.)
If you’re still at a loss about what to do on Christmas Day, and can’t be bothered to cook your own roast dinner, TĪNG will be open for traditional festive fare. At lunchtime you can expect roast Norfolk turkey and all the trimmings, plus homemade Christmas pudding with brandy butter. Or, for dinner, you’ll be served a somewhat fancier menu featuring dishes such as halibut tartare with caviar, and guinea fowl with sprouts and chestnuts.
For bougie New Year’s Eve vibes, head up to the 52nd floor for GŌNG Bar’s Studio 52 NYE event, themed around the legendary Studio 54 nightclub. There’ll be drag acts, disco tunes and Champagne to (quite literally) take your New Year’s Eve celebrations to new heights.
If you’d rather bring in the new year with plate after plate of good food (start as you mean to go on, eh?), head to TĪNG for an almighty six-course menu, all paired, of course, with wonderful fine wines. The menu features the likes of poached turbot with tempura oyster, sea vegetables and caviar, and Champagne sorbet. In other words, mouthfuls of class. There’ll also be live entertainment and 50s style revelry to help you groove your way into 2020.
