The harrowing crimes of Jeffrey Dahmer, Charles Manson, Edmund Kemper and, unfortunately, more, have sent ripples throughout history and shivers down many spines. Serial Killer: The Exhibition takes you behind the yellow tape and into the intricate red-string web of the evidence board with immersive rooms, over 1000 artefacts and recreations of crime scenes. Coming to The Vaults beneath Waterloo Station on September 21, this is an opportunity to delve into the science and history behind serial crimes.
What can I expect at Serial Killer: The Exhibition?
This true crime exhibition comes from the minds of Italy’s leading exhibition purveyors Italmostre. It takes an unflinching look at notorious murderers throughout history and the resulting investigations conducted in the wake of their disturbing crimes. Following on from a successful run in Milan, Serial Killer: The Exhibition is now embarking on a world tour and it’s coming to London.
Fittingly located in the underground labyrinth of The Vaults, not-so-secreted away beneath the oblivious buzz of Waterloo Station, this exhibition is not for the faint of heart. With seven immersive rooms, 16 virtual reality stations and over 300 authentic finds, you will be plunged into the dark world of serial killers. It also contains 150 original objects, including haunting letters, personal items and paintings, which belong to some of the most well-known serial killers to ever stalk this earth. Additionally, and most crucially, it doesn’t forget the names and faces of the most important people in these stories – their victims.
Whether you’re a future psychologist or simply have a dose of morbid curiosity, Serial Killer: The Exhibition is an engaging experience that brings the questions we have about some of history’s worst criminals to light. It is a goosebump-inducing look at typologies, murder methods and dark motivations that drive them to commit such heinous acts. It’s likely not for everyone, but if you count yourself interested then be sure to get your tickets here.
