Scissor Sisters don’t often play to crowds of less than 1,000, but fans will have a rare chance to catch them at an intimate gig next month.
Jake Shears and co. have just announced a gig at the CHALK in Brighton on Friday, May 29, with the concert in the seaside city serving as a warm-up to some huge summer shows.
Announcing the news on their Instagram page, Scissor Sisters wrote: “We figured we’d better scrape the rust off this spaceship before summer. Chalk, Brighton. Friday May 29. A small room, a big opportunity to help your Scissters limber up.”
It comes ahead of some massive shows lined up for later in the year, with Scissor Sisters set to headline the Sunday (May 31) of the Mighty Hoopla festival in Brockwell Park, as well as playing a massive main support slot to Duran Duran at Hyde Park BST.
Prior to 2025, the Scissor Sisters had been on hiatus, with their last UK show coming in London back in 2012. Their first show back came at another Brighton venue, the Concorde, which preceded a huge arena tour and a massive Glastonbury festival slot last summer.
Catching Scissor Sisters with the sea breeze for company on a Friday evening, right as summer is about to hit, is surely the best way to signal in the warm season. May the ticketing Gods be in your favour for this one – it’ll be well worth the trip down from London (even if you don’t feel like dancing).
