To celebrate 60 years of the Star Trek franchise, the Science Museum have put together a trail of objects from the archives of the beloved Star Trek universe.
Trekkies will have the opportunity to see Jean-Luc Picard’s uniform, worn by Sir Patrick Stewart, Scotty’s uniform, worn by Simon Pegg and Michael Burnham’s EV suit, worn by Sonequa Martin-Green.
A treat for Trekkies
The trail is completely free and runs from today (26 March) until September. The aim of the items on display is to draw parallels between science fiction and real-world innovations.
Other items on display will include a model of the U.S.S. Enterprise from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, a striking prop head used in Star Trek: Nemesis and equipment used by doctors on Star Trek, such as tricorders.
The Star Trek warp trail will take over the mezzanine level of the museum, as well as the shop where exclusive anniversary merchandise can be snagged.
Star Trek lates and screenings at the Science Museum

The trail is part of a whole programme of events, including Star Trek Lates.
Tonight the museum will host a free but ticketed after-hours event, where visitors can enjoy DJ’s and performers and hear from scientists and speakers. You’ll also be able to pose for a photo in a 360 Enterprise Bridge experience.
For the very first time, audiences will be able to experience the whole cinematic legacy in one season, thanks to special screenings taking place from 26 March to 18 June. The films have been digitised and can now be enjoyed in full IMAX format on one of the biggest screens in the UK, housed at the Science Museum. Tickets start from £14.
Dr Glyn Morgan, Head of Collections and Principal Curator at the Science Museum, shares that “Star Trek as a cultural phenomenon has played a real role in changing the world of STEM, from inspiring technical innovations to encouraging a generation of modern astronauts.”
“I hope that this Star Trek at 60 programme at the Science Museum inspires visitors to consider what might be possible if you boldly go where no one has gone before.”
