After last night’s 2-1 victory against the Netherlands, England has made it all the way through to the finals of the 2024 UEFA European Football Championship. As such, England is absolutely stuffed to the brim with footy fever and virtually every establishment across the country is sure to be showing the Euro 2024 finals this weekend as we face off against Spain on Sunday, July 14.
To commemorate the historic match, Sadiq Khan is even taking over the O2 for an enormous – and FREE – viewing of the Euro 2024 finals. We’re talking 15,000 tickets for fans, and the match being screened on an eye-wateringly massive 16-metre screen.
Said The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan: “I am so proud of what this team have achieved in reaching another major final. I’m delighted that we can now invite 15,000 England fans to The O2 on Sunday night for what we all hope will be a night of great drama and celebration.”
How to get tickets
Tickets are being allocated via a ballot, which is open now. You must be over 18 to enter the ballot, but the event is open to all ages. To enter the ballot and apply for a ticket, head to London.gov.uk/EurosFinal. The ballot will remain open from now until 9am on Friday, July 12. Each ballot application is for up to four tickets.
Fans who are lucky enough to secure one of the 15,000 tickets will be notified by email from midday on Friday, July 12. They will then have until 11am on Saturday, July 13 to claim their free ticket for the event.
Any tickets not claimed in time will then be re-released to other successful ballot applicants. Successful fans will find out if they’ve lucked out the second time around from midday onwards, on Saturday, July 13. So fret not if you don’t get the email on Friday, you still might prove successful on Saturday!
But remember – you only have until 9am tomorrow to apply!
At the O2 Euro 2024 finals viewing
Those lucky enough to nab a ticket will be invited to arrive at the viewing from 6pm onwards. The match starts at 8pm, but there will be live entertainment from 6pm until the match kicks off. There will also be access to food and beverage vendors during this time.
As this is an England fan screening, they will only allow England team shirts or dress in the venue. Fans will not be allowed in if they are wearing opposing team shirts or other club shirts. But, obviously, if you’re not wearing any footy garb at all you’ll still be allowed in. (But where’s the SPIRIT in that?)
While the ballot itself is only open to those aged 18 and over, the event is for all ages. However, under-16s will not be allowed on the standing floor. Additionally, under-15s must have an adult aged 18 or over with them in a reserved seat.
So what are you waiting for? Apply for tickets via the ballot now.
