With summer around the corner, rosé season is now upon us, and the folks at Covent Garden pretty excited. Following last year’s successful edition, they’re throwing another two-week rosé festival on their Piazza from April 29, to celebrate all things pink wine. Sounds like our kind of party!
The celebrations include interactive pop ups, music, flower stalls, and more. But let’s get straight to the nitty-gritty here: the rosé. Obviously you can expect lots of it, with six pop-up bars and drink trucks, along with plenty of Covent Garden’s many restaurants, offering over 30 varieties of ice-cold rosé cocktails, pretty pink frosés, canned rosé bubbles, rose petal infused prosecco, rosé spritzers, sparkling rosés, rosé cider, and pretty much every other rosé concoction you could come up with.
Of course there’ll be some good food as well, and participation from several of the local restaurants. Pasta Evangelists have teamed up with Kocktail to launch a Rosé Spritz & Pasta Bar, The Wine Tap Van are pitching up with recyclable kegs full of rosé, and Pink Diesel will park their shiny airstream bar in the piazza, serving up their single-source wines from Provence.
The surrounding restaurants are getting into the theme properly, with Ave Mario decorating their terrace with spring florals and serving Italian rosés, Petersham Nurseries throwing their own festival-within-a-festival in their gorgeous courtyard, and foliage-filled restaurant SUSHISAMBA whipping up a specialty cocktail, The Rosé Samabatini.
Furthermore, you can expect to find flower installations, special skincare products and goodies in surrounding shops, and more rosé-inspired surprises all around. The Rosé Garden Party will run from April 29 to May 15. Find more information regarding opening times, and other things going on in Covent Garden here.
