On a night out in London, it can often feel like you have to make a choice. Either the venue and activity can be fun, or the drinks can actually be good. Too many spots prioritise the experience, whilst serving mediocre food and drinks. But a brand new cocktail and social gaming venue, set to hit London this month, is looking to change that.
Rocket Room opens in the centre of London this April, offering up “a more refined take on social gaming [in] a stylish new late-night spot overlooking the square”. Taking over the second floor above the recently-opened Market Place Food Hall Leicester Square, the venues will draw more from classic cocktail bars than other gaming venues in the city.
Instead of kitschy tongue-in-cheek decor, Rocket Room is promising a more intimate experience. Guests can expect low-lighting, late-night DJs, and sophisticated touches. You’d hardly even know the venue could host up to 120 people at a time – making it equally perfect for dates or big group nights out.
And for drinks, they’re keeping it classic. A central bar will serve up the likes of Negronis, Margaritas and Old Fashioneds, with serves curated by expert mixologists. Instead of over-the-top themed drinks with glowing colours and garnishes, they’re sticking to the basics – made well, with an elevated twist.
Gaming at Rocket Room
But what’s a gaming bar without some decent games? Perhaps the biggest attraction is that Rocket Room is bringing another axe-throwing destination to central London (finally!). Guests can also challenge each other to bouts of darts, beer pong, and shuffleboard.

As if that wasn’t enough, thanks to its perch above Market Place, you can grab some banging grub on the way in. Choose from 15 street food vendors, with options to make everyone happy, before you settle in for drinks and friendly competition.
