There’s a certain wretchedness in the universe that means the skies turned grey in London as soon as soon as September hit; almost as if to mockingly tell us that we’ve had our fun, and it’s time to go home now.
Yes… summer might be over, but don’t listen to that killjoy voice that tells you the year is over. Pop on a jacket and continue enjoying the great outdoors, starting with, say, a dog walk. Your four-legged friend doesn’t care that we can’t enjoy a barbecue or a spritz on a terrace – so join them on taking a walk through one of London’s brilliant routes. Plus, you know, it helps that London has a park that’s just been named one of the very best for taking dogs on a walk in the whole of the UK.
The aptly named social dog walking group, Walkie Dogs, has compiled a list of the five best dog-walking routes across Britain, and has ranked Regent’s Park in London as one of the top spots to take out your canine.
Praising Regent’s Park, Walkie Dogs said: “Regent’s Park in London is packed with sights and activities to be enjoyed by people and pups of all ages, including that famous view from the top of Primrose Hill. Home to London’s largest outdoor sports area and a large lake with boat hire available, there’s plenty to do for hours on end.
“The space is a hub of nature in the heart of the city, with over 120 species of bird, a population of hedgehogs, as well as 5,000 varieties of tree, so there’s an abundance of wildlife for you and your furry companion to take in on your daily stroll!”
Alongside, Regent’s Park in the list was Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Park; Wharton Park in Durham; Roundhay Park in Leeds; and Bristol’s Brandon Hill… so you know where to head if you’re out of London with your pup!
