The Regent Street Angels are returning on November 15, as part of London’s most heavenly Christmas light display.

Mid-November is about the time everything goes from just a little bit festive to Festive As F*ck. Regent Street included. So, my Christmas-loving angels, pen November 15, 2018, into your diaries immediately, for the heavens are opening once more. (📸 by @levanterman)

Just like last year and the year before that, Regent Street’s heavenly angels are heading back to earth for central London’s largest Christmas lights display. Their recurring theme – the ‘Sprit of Christmas’ – draws upon Regent Street’s festive history as the very first central London location to have a Christmas lights display. The modern-day lights have been inspired by the street’s debut display back in 1954, which featured traditional angels playing trumpets.

Regent Street will shut to traffic from 5–9pm on November 15, with the Big Switch On taking place between 5:30 and 6:30pm. And since you’re dying to know – yes, I know what you’re all waiting for – this year’s celebrity button-pusher will be Dr Who herself, Jodie Whittaker. Go check it out!
