Regent Street Will Close For One Massive Transportation Festival This Summer

I like big buses and I cannot lie – these black cabbies can’t deny, when a tube pulls just up a couple minutes late, you get elbows in your face, you get… pissed off.

Apologies for the moment of random madness. I don’t know what the Secret London team think this transportation festival on the 3rd July is going to consist of, but it probably won’t be travel-related raps. *Sigh*. (If anyone is in interested in using these lyrics, please tweet us @secret_LDN.) But, seriously, there is a festival celebrating London’s transport through the ages. The festival – Transported By Design – will actually be divided into three ‘zones’: Past, Present and Future.

In the Past zone, there will feature a 1927 tube carriage, as well as horse-drawn buses and heritage posters. The Present zone will give insight into the workings of contactless payment, as well as displaying the designs of stations, taxis and buses. Stepping further into the Future zone, you’ll have the chance to see how technological developments will affect travel in the future (think virtual reality).
