RAYE’s been owning the headlines lately. After her showstopping BRITs performance last month, the Tooting superstar visited the London pub that inspired her song “Nightingale Lane” and took pictures with her own blue plaque. Now, after her album’s tracklist leaked online, she’s flipped the script on the reveal for her upcoming album This Music May Contain Hope, revealing a nod to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and surprising collabs with legends like Al Green and London-born rising stars.
The big reveal: how did RAYE announce the tracklist for This Music May Contain Hope?
After the leak, the singer rushed to Instagram to share the tracklist herself, dressing it up with season-inspired doodles and signing it off with: “TO THE MEAN PERSON WHO LEAKED TRACK LIST YOU RLLY SUCK (BIG THUMBS DOWN).”
RAYE revealed This Music May Contain Hope is divided into four seasonal acts, à la Vivaldi: autumn, winter, spring, summer. This isn’t the first time the British powerhouse has tapped into Vivaldi’s classical music genius. Her “This Tour May Contain New Music” which kicked off earlier this year weaves in a solo violin performance of Winter from the composer’s Four Seasons concertos.
This follows other stars who’ve recently channelled Vivaldi’s Baroque mastery, like Spanish singer Rosalía who teamed up with the London Symphony Orchestra for “Berghain” last year.
