World famous bakery, Marchesi 1824, is now open in Mayfair.
Pasticceria Marchesi first opened in Italy in 1824, and it’s now considered to be a true Milanese landmark. Part owned by Prada, the bakery is expectedly glam, with interiors that could quite easily have been stolen from a Wes Anderson set. And today, they threw open the doors of the London branch.
Aside from its gorgeous green interiors, Marchesi is also famed for its moreish panettone and its colourful candies. Everything is incredibly Instagrammable, and the London offshoot looks set to be the same. There’ll be sweets in every colour under the sun, dreamy gianduja chocolates, as well as their widely-celebrated sugared almonds.
In typical Italian fashion there will, of course, be an espresso bar – as well as those indulgently thick, spoonable hot chocolates that are far too difficult to find in the UK. Go check it out!
