2. Tour a historic town by boat
What better way to explore the sights of this idyllic historic town than with a guided tour? Duck Tours’ iconic yellow car-come-boat offers two thrilling river-and-road excursions around the town and on the Thames. If you’re keen to explore the Crown Estate, you can opt for the Mallard Splash Road and River Duck Tour, which is evenly split between land and water. Or if you’d rather admire the town from the river, the Swan Splash Road and River Duck Tour will give you maximum time a-float. 33 Thames Street, Windsor, SL4 1PR
3. Eat, shop and explore in Windsor
Once you’ve had the whistlestop highlights tour, it’s likely you’re going to want to spend a little bit of time on your family road trip enjoying the local offering. The town is full of old cosy pubs and cute cafes where you can grab lunch, such as The Two Brewers and The Alma. If you choose to wander into Windsor Great Park (highly recommended!), The Savill Garden also has its own Kitchen, along with the Potting Shed Cafe. You’ll also find great shopping throughout the town, from antique and specialist shops to high street retailers and designer labels.
