Head to Sloane Square to find Pizza on The Square.
The al fresco dining revolution is in full swing, and wherever you go in London right now, the rules of England’s roadmap out of lockdown have led outdoor eating spaces to spring up all over town. The latest is found in the heart of Chelsea, as Pizza on The Square has taken over Sloane Square to serve pizza and tequila to all-comers. Now that’s the kind of hospitality we can get behind!
Pizza on The Square is a collaboration from The Botanist Sloane Square, and Casamigos Tequila and Mezcal, best known for being co-owned by the ageless George Clooney. Taking the form of an 85-cover al fresco dining terrace, Pizza on The Square is open now, and currently delighting West Londoners with artisan woodfired pizzas. Early favourites include the garlic and mushroom white pizza, topped with walnuts and truffle oil, and a classic pepperoni.
It takes a lot to put pizza in the shade, but arguably the highlight is Casamigos’ solid oak bar, where mixologists are mixing up some of the summer’s best serves. We’re intrigued by the flavours of Tommy’s Casa Caliente, which uses lime juice, strawberry, basil, and green chilli to spice things up, but the favourite is likely to be the Frozen Watermelon and Coconut Margarita, which just sounds like everything we need right now.
Pizza on The Square will be in residence until September, and with rattan furnishings, palms, and other fixtures designed to ensure maximum comfort, including a ‘gram-friendly beach bar swing. It’ll be open 11am-10pm every day, which is good since “every day” is when I wish I was scoffing pizza and frozen margs…
