It’s that time of the year again, when London decides that it’s the ultimate ski resort.
It’s the same every year. Come late October, après-ski themed bars start popping-up all over the city, despite the significant lack of snow-topped mountains nearby. But, you know as well as I do that London pop-ups have a magnificent ability to transport us to places we’d rather be, and this particularly one will send you straight to the Alps.
Piste, the hidden bar beneath Soho’s Archer Street, proudly jumps upon the après-ski bandwagon, too – keeping Londoners warm and cosy during the winter months. Adorned with antique skis and fur-lined loungers, this subterranean bar has a traditional chalet vibe, unmistakably inspired by Scandinavian mountain cabins.
Enjoy a festive cocktail as you cosy up by the roaring log fire, or fill your face with cheese and charcuterie. Sounds pretty chilled, huh? Well, no, don’t go getting the wrong idea. This place gets pretty rowdy. You can expect lots of dancing on tables and spontaneous singing from the staff. It’s absolutely outrageous.
Open from October 25, this underground bar is the ultimate destination to get well and truly Piste.
