This World-Class Photography Fair Will Feature Over 400 Artists From Around The World

AdvertisementPhoto London will be returning to Somerset House for what is set to be another unforgettable year, showcasing over 400 talented artists from a range of leading galleries around the world.

While you’re prepping your day out, make sure to factor in enough time to stop by the beautiful Somerset House Terrace – an Ibizan-inspired bar boasting beautiful views across the Thames and serving ice cold San Miguel beer and an authentic Spanish menu throughout the day.

Showing from May 16-19 at Somerset House, Photo London is a fantastic opportunity to discover new artists and experience their breath-taking work first hand. And with the very best photography from the past, present and future, this world-class event goes a long way towards confirming London’s status as a global cultural capital.

Vivian Maier ‘Chicago, 1962′ (1962)

Bringing together London’s major museums, auction houses, galleries of all sizes, as well as the burgeoning creative communities in south London and the East End, Photo London is filled with a wide variety of talent. Alongside work from the world’s top galleries, you’ll also find the Discovery section, which features some exciting emerging artists and galleries—many of which will be making their first appearance at Photo London this year.

Tom Wood, ‘Sit Down Great Homer Street’ (1992)

Although the focus is on photography, there’ll be plenty of work that pushes the boundaries between photography and other art forms, including sculpture, painting, video and textiles.

Tony Gum, ‘Milk The Bok’ (2017)

This year, San Miguel will be the official beer partner for Photo London, serving their beers to photography and art lovers. If you’re looking for a culture fix, want to develop your knowledge of art and just experience an afternoon of admiring the photos, the exhibition is a great way to spend some time in London. As a brand that champions experiences as the new riches, San Miguel’s round-the-world variety of brews available a short stroll away at the San Miguel Terrace bar means you can reflect on your new-found inspiration after admiring the artworks whilst enjoying a beer alongside the Thames.

At the San Miguel Terrace Bar, you’ll find delectable dishes matched with their own perfect beer pairing, courtesy of the ‘San Miguel Tap Station’, which is the only place you’ll find it in the UK. Following San Miguel’s journey around the world, the beers are inspired by different blends of malts and hops from across the globe. Try the Grilled Garlic Prawns, Avocado, Spinach & Chilli salad with San Miguel Hong Kong, or the sharing board with friends, alongside a San Miguel Bilbao. Of course, the classics range will also be available (San Miguel Especial, San Miguel 0.0%, San Miguel Gluten Free and San Miguel Selecta). To discover more pairings and check out their special monthly dishes, you’d better head to this seriously scenic bar before summer’s out! You can read all about it here.
