Philip Schofield has been a familiar face on the couch on ITV’s This Morning for a long time now. Many will have grown up seeing his face daily, getting ready for school and/or eating your cereal.
It seems that his time as a presenter on the popular morning TV show has come to an end, however. Recently, the press has been full of stories about Philip Schofield. most recently, there were rumours of some kind of feud between him and fellow presenter, Holly Willoughby.
However, Holly has not expressed any bad feeling toward her fellow host of many years, stating: “It’s been over 13 great years presenting This Morning with Phil and I want to take this opportunity to thank him for all of his knowledge, his experience and his humour. The sofa won’t feel the same without him.”
It seems that recently Philip Schofield has been unable to evade the limelight, with his brother having just been sentenced to a twelve year custodial sentence. However, we’re sure that the This Morning host is ready to move on to even bigger and better things.
It has certainly been a tumultuous year for Philip and he has certainly left an great impact on the show. with Kevin Lygo, ITV’s managing director saying:
“Phillip is hands down one of the best broadcasters of his generation and we thank him for his two decades worth of absolutely terrific television on the This Morning sofa. […] “We look forward to continuing our relationship with Phillip starting with The British Soap Awards in June and a brand new peak time series to come.”
I’ll always remember putting my socks on and eating my porridge to the sounds of Philip Schofield’s enthusastic banter but perhaps what I will remember the most is Sarah Millican and Philip Schofield on The Jonathan Ross Show. Just watch it, it will make you chuckle. Who knows what’s next for him but we hope it will be positive for Philip.
