The end of the summer holidays are in touching distance. End it on a high with your little ones, and give them an experience to remember, reminiscent of our summer holidays, back when we were little. Combining an outdoor trail, live performances, and the much-loved, mischievous Peter Rabbit, The Peter Rabbit™ Garden Adventure has welcomed the whole family this summer, and now there are just a few days left of the experience.
The special walled garden at Oxfordshire’s Blenheim Palace, that was transformed into the garden of old Mr. McGregor for the summer, will be closing its gates on Saturday, September 3. Situated just over an hours’ drive from London, don’t miss out on the event, which boasts enjoyable outdoor entertainment, an activity area and a farm shop with the famously mischievous character from our childhoods (and that of our parents, and grandparents). Off the back of the all-star film in 2018, Peter Rabbit has a resurgence with yet another generation.
For just under an hour, kids and kids at heart can traverse the vegetable gardens, greenhouses and potting sheds on a quest to save Peter Rabbit from becoming rabbit pie (not on our watch, Mr. McGregor!) The Peter Rabbit™ Garden Adventure includes visits from familiar characters along the way, like Jemima Puddle-Duck, Mrs Tiggy-winkle, and Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail, and combines enchanting storytelling, live performances and captivating puppetry.
Elsewhere, in the Activity Area, let the children take a break from finding Peter Rabbit in the garden… and find their creativity on paper instead! Children can rest their legs and partake in some more low-octane activities, including colouring in, dot to dot, word searches and Peter Rabbit™ portrait drawings. Meanwhile, parents, you can watch over the mini creatives while refuelling your own energy levels with some coffee or ice cream from the food cart located outside the farm shop. The Peter Rabbit™ Farm Shop stocks books and toys too… treats for all!
Continue the adventure after your quest by exploring the rest of Blenheim Palace, the setting for The Peter Rabbit™ Garden Adventure – you’ll benefit from a 50% discount to the rest of the grounds with your ticket. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, with over 300 years of history, it was the birthplace of former prime minister Winston Churchill, and these days, still boasts sprawling gardens and intriguing interiors.
2022 marks the 120th anniversary year of Peter Rabbit, and there is no better way to honour the Beatrix Potter character. The Peter Rabbit™ Garden Adventure will be open to visitors between Tuesday and Sunday each week until it closes, with various slots throughout the day.
