Paul Mescal isn’t running away from us this time, folks. In fact, he’s heading straight back in our direction, as it’s just been announced that he’ll be (very fleetingly) returning to London’s West End next year.
Mescal will be reprising his role as Stanley Kowalski in Rebecca Frecknall’s multi-award-winning revival of A Streetcar Named Desire. Having played a sold-out and critically-acclaimed run at the Almeida Theatre between December 2022 and February 2023, the adaptation of Tennessee Williams’ iconic play will return for a three-week run at the Noël Coward Theatre, before transferring across the pond.

The upcoming run will see Mescal reunited with the show-stopping Patsy Ferran as Blanche DuBois, Dwayne Walcott as Harold, and Anjana Vasan as Stella. The tragic story follows the tale of two estranged sisters reuniting in New Orleans, and explores themes of desire, delusion and dependency. The production will feature set design by Madeleine Girling, costume design by Merle Hensel, sound design by Peter Rice, lighting design by Lee Curran, and composition by Angus MacRae.
The previous three-month run of the show was an instant sell-out, and so I imagine the tickets for this three-week run will, quite literally, sell like hot cakes. On November 14 (this Thursday), DMT+ members will be able to buy tickets at 10am, then at 12pm, Almeida Supporters and ATG+ members will get their chance. Anybody who signs up for priority booking will have an opportunity to score a ticket from 2pm, whereas general sale is not until the following day (November 15). You can only sign up for priority access until 23.59 on Wednesday, November 13. So, what are you waiting for?

A Streetcar Named Desire will be running at the Noël Coward Theatre from February 3 – February 22, 2025. Tickets go on general sale on Friday, November 15 but anybody who signs up for priority booking will get the chance to nab some tickets on November 14.
