Your kid will be the talk of the town, well, at least the school playground, with a party at the Paradox Museum. Found in Knightsbridge just a stone’s throw from Harrods (ahem, the birthday pressie goldmine), this immersive experience will turn your world upside down in the best way. You can swap clowns for camouflage and inflatables for illusions as you explore over 50 mesmerising installations. Here are five reasons why you should book a birthday to remember at the Paradox Museum…
1. You can choose from three brilliant birthday packages
The Paradox Museum clearly knows the dilemma of organising the perfect party, so they’ve made things a little easier with three tailored packages.
The Standard Birthday Package treats you to full access to the museum and 45 minutes in the mystical Dragon Nest birthday room to keep the celebrations going. The VIP Birthday Package includes all of the above, with the added bonus of catering (think cake, sandwiches and soft drinks – with tableware, of course). The Mayfair Chippy Package also includes all of the above, but, as you may have guessed from the name, with hot food catering from Mayfair Chippy.
2. It is a unique experience for all ages
Don’t worry parents, no need to force laughter or fake amazement, this one is fun for you too. The Paradox Museum will warp brains of kids and adults alike with their fascinating array of interactive installations which educate and entertain in equal measure. You are invited on a journey that will challenge your perspective and make you question reality as you know it.
3. You can take some wondrously weird photo mementos
Better charge up your phones, this is a treasure trove of selfie moments. One moment you’ll be doing your best astronaut pose in the Zero Gravity Room, the next you’ll be asking for a family pic on the Paradox Sofa, where limbs appear to sprout from the cushions and the wall paintings pull silly faces.
4. You get a private party room all to yourself
Attempting to keep an eye on a chaotic bunch of kids in a wonderland of optical illusions is no easy feat. So, it’s a relief to know at the end you’ll have the sanctum of the private Dragon Nest birthday room to unwind, eat and put your feet up – at least momentarily – in.
5. There’s no shortage of entertainment to delight the kids
Let’s admit it, it can be tricky to keep energetic young minds entertained for an extended period of time, but with over 50 exhibits and installations to discover, the hard work is taken care of. Typically taking up to 90 minutes, it’s not every day you get the chance to disappear in plain sight in the Camouflage Room, walk on ceilings in the Reversed Room, see the world spin around you in the Paradox Tunnel and float through the air in the popular Zero Gravity Room.
