In West London, you’ll find the Supermarket of Dreams, a grocer in Notting Hill that transforms when the sun goes down. The shop becomes an intimate ramen bar for a limited-run pop-up from Robin’s Ramen, created in partnership with the team behind the nearby restaurant, Dorian.
From day-time grocer to night-time ramen bar
Robin’s Ramen aims to create ramen that celebrates its country of origin, Japan, and the country it’s being made in, the UK. This means the menu is built around consciously sourced ingredients from across the UK and Europe, putting a local spin on traditional recipes. You can slurp down noodles while surrounded by shelves of gourmet produce.
The main event, a classic pork belly chashu ramen, is available for just £10. It features a rich chicken broth, expertly cooked noodles, and tender pork. For something different, the menu includes an electric-green Pistachio Matcha ramen. The pop-up also serves starters like bream with rhubarb and ponzu or crispy Prawn Katsu Bao. To drink, there are cocktails like a floral Sakura Martini and a tart Rhubarb Margarita.
