I sure do love an airport, me. The excitement, the anticipation, the fact that it’s completely reasonable to sink a pint at six in the morning and spend your money like you’re playing a game of Monopoly. What’s not to love? Well, aside from the incessant queueing, of course. From bag drop and border control to security and Starbucks, there does seem to be a lengthy line at every turn. But for certain passengers heading to Heathrow Airport, one of those queues will no longer be an issue.
British Airways passengers flying from Jersey Airport to London Heathrow before 12pm can now use the handy new Twilight Bag Drop service. Operating seven days a week between the hours of 4.30pm and 8pm, the service allows passengers to drop off their hold luggage the evening before their flight, thus taking a bit of pre-flight pressure off the actual day of travel.
Utlising the Twilight Bag Drop will allow fliers to – well – fly straight through to departures, avoiding the morning rush at the bag-drop desks. Jersey Airport has introduced the service in a bid to enhance the passenger experience. And whilst it’s initially being introduced in partnership with British Airways, specifically for flights heading to London Heathrow, there are plans in the pipeline to expand the offering to additional airlines and airports in future.

The service also includes 30 minutes worth of complimentary parking in the airport’s long-stay car park for those dropping off checked baggage the evening prior to departure. Jersey Airport believe that it’ll be a particularly beneficial service for families, groups, customers who require a little more time, and those travelling with multiple bags.
Jamie Loudon, Head of Terminal and Transformation at Jersey Airport, said: “Twilight Bag Drop is about making travel easier and more convenient for our customers. By giving passengers the option to check in and drop off their hold luggage the evening before travel, it provides greater flexibility and removes part of the airport journey from the day of departure. Customers can arrive at the airport knowing their bags have already been processed, giving them more time to relax and focus on the start of their trip.”
