Pizza is at the top of many people’s favourite food list; so the pineapple naysayers and pineapple yaysayers can all have a day to unite and enjoy some mighty pizza offers throughout London.
Some such offers even involve not having to shell out a single penny to grab a few slices of the good stuff, which is pretty much the best you could ask for. Here’s a selection of some of the best pizza restaurants in London offering free pizza for National Pizza Day on February 9. Happy slicin’!
1. Pizza Express
Now this one comes with a catch. You must show up in a black and white striped t-shirt to pay homage to the iconic chef uniform. Don’t have one? Find a cheap one about town and it still may well save you money either way. This year’s ‘earn your stripes’ campaign by Pizza Express is back, and nicely coincides with the chain’s 60th birthday this year. Anyone who shows up at their restaurants nationwide in a stripy shirt will have a chance of getting their hands on one of 60 free Margherita pizzas per restaurant in the house. You can grab a free classic, vegan, or gluten-free pizza on February 9 if you turn up in the correct attire, so be sure to don those stripes. You can find out all the details of the Pizza Express giveaway here.
2. Bella Italia
National Pizza Day also means you can score a free pie from Bella Italia, who are giving away 1,500 pizzas across the UK to celebrate. Those hoping to indulge in the free slices need simply sign up online to grab a voucher code for a free Margherita pizza with a main purchase, which means that if you go along to enjoy the deal with a pal, it’s essentially buy one, get one free! That main could even be the brand new pizza the brand is unveiling for National Pizza Day: the Marco Polo, which consists of shredded duck on a plum and tomato sauce with spring onions – just like the pasta dish. The giveaway runs between February 9 – 11, and you can find out all you need to know here.
3. Happy Face Pizza
How do fancy your chances? If you roll a six at Happy Face Pizza in King’s Cross or Brent Cross, you’ll bag free pizzas for you, and your whole table for groups up to six! All customers need to do is head in for a bite to eat on February 9, and ask the team to ‘make them lucky’, and you’ll be presented with the opportunity to roll a lucky six in exchange for some free doughy goodness. Find out more about Happy Face Pizza here.
4. Doughnation
If you find yourself in Covent Garden, you can rock up to Doughnation with a friend and take advantage of their 2-for-1 offer on all their pizzas for the day. The cheapest pizza you order will be taken off your bill, and you can choose anything from pepperoni to three prawn deluxe to nduja sausage. Find out more about Doughnation here.
5. Fireaway Pizza
Sunday is the optimum time to grab a pizza, and you can do that on the house by making your order a pizza with Fireaway on February 9. They’ll be giving away 16,000 free pizzas to celebrate the big day, with 100 up for grabs to dine in or takeaway at each of their 160 locations across the UK. You’ll simply need to fill out your nearest location here and your details and you’ll be sent a voucher for a free Margherita to use this Sunday! Talk about ending the weekend in style. Find out more about Fireaway here.
Of course, plenty of other pizza restaurants in London will have deals that you should dough-finitely take advantage of – Crust Bros, for example, will be offering up £5 personalised pizzas at their Waterloo restaurant on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 February, as well as £5 drinks including spritzes. Basically like a trip to Italy, right? Well, maybe not exactly, but you’ll still be catching yourself a nice bargain.
