A trail of joy-sparking sculptures has just been unveiled in London’s West End in a bid to celebrate the area’s incomparable creativity and character. The playful public art trial is completely free to visit, and comes courtesy of acclaimed artist, Mr Doodle, in collaboration with the capital’s cultural initiative, Art of London.
Mr Doodle’s Doodle Discovery
The al-fresco art trail features a series of uniquely-designed, doodle-adorned sculptures; each of which pay homage to the cultural and culinary landmarks of London’s West End. Sure to put a smile on even the very grumpiest of Londoners’ faces, Mr Doodle’s Doodle Discovery comprises five huge works of art that have been dotted throughout the likes of Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, and St James’s Market.

This smile-inducing selection of sculptures will serve as an open-air gallery throughout the summer, offering a fun and family-friendly way of exploring our wonderful West End. Each eye-catching installation showcases Mr Doodle’s instantly-recognisable style with bespoke doodled references and bold pops of colour.
There’s a bright orange fish with doodles inspired by the city’s cinema scene, a blue robot that pays homage to Leicester Square’s community, a yellow flower that’s been decked out with theatrical doodles, a pink character covered in art-related references, and a red cyclops that celebrates St James’s Market’s thriving food and drink scene. Visitors can also scan a QR code at each sculpture to unlock a digital map.
Mr Doodle’s Doodle Discovery comes as part of Art of London’s ongoing efforts to celebrate arts, culture and creativity in the capital city – and will provide a wonderfully interactive and accessible way for Londoners (and beyond) to immerse themselves in art and culture this summer.

Mr Doodle said: “It’s amazing to see my doodle world come to life across the West End. I’ve loved creating characters inspired by the energy, creativity and landmarks of this area, and I hope people have fun spotting the sculptures, exploring the streets and adding a bit of doodle magic to their summer day out.”
Kirsty Tullett-Jones, Director of Marketing and Communications at Art of London, said: “The West End if full of creativity, culture and surprise, and Mr Doodle’s Doodle Discovery brings that spirit to life in such a joyful way. We wanted to create something free, fun and easy for visitors to enjoy during the summer holidays – an experience that encourages people to explore the area, discover something unexpected and enjoy a memorable day out.”
Mr Doodle’s Doodle Discovery will be free to visit in London until August 30.
