Metallica are heading back to the UK next year as they bring the M72 tour to London for two nights. Marking their first shows in the city since a 2019 set at Twickenham Stadium, the legendary pioneers of thrash metal will play a duo of nights at the London Stadium on July 3 and July 5, 2026.
James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich, and Rob Trujillo will play through their stacked back catalogue of hits, and their shows in London will fall under the band’s ‘No Repeat Weekends’, which will see them play two entirely different setlists with no song played twice over the two nights. They come on the M72 run, which sees the support for the band’s 72 Seasons record enter its fourth year.

Metallica last played the UK when they headlined the 20th anniversary edition of Download Festival, which was also part of their ‘No Repeat Weekends’ in June 2023. Joining the band for these sets of shows will be Gojira and Knocked Loose on night one (July 3), with Pantera and Avatar supporting on night two (July 5).
