London’s Vampire-Themed Pizza Joint Is A Spooky Spot For A Slice • Lost Boys Pizza

Lost Boys

Serious Gothic vibes abound at Lost Boys Pizza.

Basing your pizza restaurant on a campy 80s horror-comedy is a pretty niche way to enter the London restaurant scene. Still, it seems to have worked pretty well for Lost Boys Pizza, who’ve become an Archway institution since opening. Inspired by the 1987 cult classic The Lost Boys, this neighbourhood pizzeria is renowned for a rocking 80s soundtrack, vampiric vibes, and their wonderfully witchy black charcoal pizzas.

The result is slices black as night, topped with some pretty delicious ingredients, and polished off with a whimsical name. Fangs For The Memories combines chorizo, peppers, onions, and chilli flakes, whilst Lost Boys also offer a stellar range of vegan pizzas. Perhaps the most intriguing is Kale All Vampires, a feast of kale, cherry tomatoes, shallots, lemon zest, and oregano. A range of vegan dips are also on the menu, perfect for a cheeky spot of crust-dunking.

You’re definitely advised to wash the pizzas down with something from Lost Boys’ cocktail menu – I’d make a strong case for the hot buttered rum, personally. Meanwhile, the Wild Kidz Old Fashioned, a concoction of Four Roses bourbon, Cherry Cola reduction, amaro, and bitters, sounds like a jazzed-up version of a Jack & coke. Those with a sweet tooth can opt for dessert, with passionfruit cheesecake or vegan and gluten free almond & date brownies up for grabs.

Come December, the Lost Boys experience gets even better. They’re opening a second joint in Mornington Crescent, which will replicate the usual formula, but with new pizzas and the promise of vegan hard shakes. Best of all, the new place will feature Croque Monsieur – a basement absinthe bar that will reportedly feature absinthe fountains on every table. Which is about as dangerously thrilling as dicing with a vampire…
