Dig out your thermals and dust off your chunkiest knitwear, folks. Because just as London was beginning to think about emerging from its winter hibernation, I come bearing some rather chilly news. Next week, the temperatures are set to – once again – plummet. And Tuesday (January 27) could mark the start of a seven-day run of snow in the capital city.
London has already seen a few flurries of flakes throughout the first month of 2026, but next week could see seven consecutive days worth descend upon the city. Now look, I wouldn’t start planning your snow day just yet. London isn’t exactly renowned for its ability to transform into a wintery wonderland. We’ll most likely be subjected to a slightly sad pile of slush rather than a scene fit for the front of a Christmas card, but still – snow (*shrieks in giddy childlike excitement’).

When is it set to snow in London?
According to weather forecasting site, Netweather, London’s snowy spell will kick off on January 27, when there’s a 56% chance of snow. That percentage then slightly drops throughout the week before soaring to an 80% chance of snow on Saturday evening (January 31). And then by Tuesday, February 3, the odds of snow throughout the night sink back down to 56%.
Of course, the weather in London drastically differs from borough to borough, so it’s difficult to forecast exactly where and when the snow will fall. But snow or no snow, the temperatures are set to be pretty darn chilly – so make sure you wrap up warm, folks.
