London’s West End is set to sparkle once again this spring as Ramadan Lights London returns for its fourth consecutive year and this time, the celebration promises to be the most breathtaking yet.
Presented and fully funded by The Aziz Foundation, the UK’s first and largest annual celebration of Ramadan will transform Coventry Street into a dazzling display of light, colour, and community spirit.
Featuring over 30,000 energy-efficient LED lights, the installation will illuminate the skies between Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square from 5:00pm to 5:00am each evening throughout Ramadan. Inspired by Islamic geometric art and the celestial rhythms that mark the holy month, this year’s design will shift through soft glowing tones, symbolising the spiritual transitions between fasting, reflection, and celebration.
The first aerial Ramadan light display in Western Europe

Since its historic debut in 2023 as the first aerial Ramadan light display in Western Europe, the initiative has evolved into a beloved city tradition – one that embodies London’s values of inclusivity, unity, and shared cultural pride. Open to all and entirely free to visit, the lights extend an invitation for Londoners and visitors alike to experience the universal spirit of Ramadan, defined by love, generosity, empathy, and gratitude.
“Ramadan Lights London is our open invitation to people of all beliefs and backgrounds to come together and experience the values at the heart of Ramadan,” said Rahima Aziz BEM, Trustee at The Aziz Foundation. “We’re proud that this event has become a shining symbol of London’s rich diversity – a reflection of the warmth and coexistence that make this city so extraordinary.”
From “Happy Ramadan” to “Happy Eid”

Throughout Ramadan, the sky above the West End will glow with the message “Happy Ramadan”, before transitioning overnight on 18 March 2026 to read “Happy Eid”, marking the end of fasting and the beginning of joyous festivities. The Eid message will remain until 24 March 2026, ensuring that the city continues to shine with the spirit of celebration.
Reflecting on the growth of this now-iconic display, Joe Dobson, Director at The Aziz Foundation, shared: “What began as a small idea has grown into a world-leading celebration. This year, we’re thrilled to bring Ramadan Lights London back, more vibrant, inclusive, and connected to the city than ever before.”
Building on the remarkable success of previous years, the 2026 edition will introduce new creative collaborations and community-led events designed to bring together people across London’s diverse faiths and cultures. The full programme, including special performances and cultural initiatives, will be unveiled soon.
