Getting by in London isn’t always a stroll in the park. Prices have shot up on everything from food and pints to rent and bills. While this is going to hit the pockets of your average Londoner, there are plenty of super-wealthy living among us, as London has once again been named as one of the richest cities in the world.
According to this recent study, London is in the top five richest cities in the entire world, after the findings in the annual World’s Wealthiest Cities Report for 2024, which is published by Henley & Partners.
It won’t come as a shock that London has made the ranks, but it has come pretty high, jumping in as the fifth-richest city in the world. This is down to the city having an eye-watering 227,000 millionaires, 370 centi-millionaires (the technical term for those worth more than $100 million), and 35 billionaires.
Who took the number one spot? That would be New York City, who have just the 349,000 millionaires, and nearly double London’s total of billionaires at 60. L0ndon was pipped to the #4 spot by Singapore, who overtook the city in terms of wealth this year with 244,800 millionaires and 30 billionaires. The city with the highest number of billionaires, according to the study, is overall second placed San Francisco, with 68.
