If you’re going out for a casual 26.2-mile jog around our city this weekend (aka running the 2025 TCS London Marathon on April 27), you’ll be pleased to know that many businesses around London are gearing up to show their support. So, if you’re looking to celebrate your incredible achievement this weekend, why not do it for free? Here are some London Marathon freebies and offers to take advantage of this weekend. Just flash your finisher’s medal and relax…
1. Free pasta (before the marathon)

Carbohydrates = energy. And energy = helpful in a marathon. So, therefore, carbohydrates = helpful in a marathon. That means pasta makes you run faster. That’s how it works, right? Regardless, if you’re planning on carbo-loading ahead of the marathon, Pastificio Al Dente has you sorted. As part of their Run Fasta Eat Pasta campaign, from April 24-26, all marathon runners can enjoy takeaway pasta dishes for free.
📍 Find your nearest Pastificio Al Dente location here.
2. Free travel
As with previous years, TfL is making it easy for participants to get to and from the race with free travel. London Marathon runners can take advantage of free travel on the London Underground and Overground services, and on the DLR and London buses. The free service will run until 6:30pm on marathon day.
In previous years, there has also been an early DLR service from 5:30am to help runners arrive on time at the start line.
This year, runners can also travel for free across portions of the Southeastern rail service to get to the start areas. Runners can travel for free on Southeastern services from these stations to reach the start – simply show your race number at the ticket gate:
- London Bridge
- London Cannon Street
- London Charing Cross
- Waterloo East
- London Victoria
Free travel on the Southeastern service will only be available in the morning. Runners will still need a valid train ticket into London and for the rest of the day after the race.
