As the dust begins to settle on this year’s London Marathon, many minds are already racing towards the starting line of next year’s event. Hotfooting 26.2 miles around the capital city has never been more desirable, and the ballot for the 2026 TCS London Marathon is already bursting at the seams.
Whether they plan on running for a cause, some clout, or the prospect of a cracking Instagram post; over 1.3 million people are predicted to throw their figurative hat into the ring this time around. And although I’m sure we’re all already aware that the odds of scoring a spot aren’t particularly high, CasinoTopsOnline have decided to let us know the specifics.

The odds of getting a ballot place in the London Marathon
Each year, there’s space for approximately 56,640 participants to pound the pavements in the London Marathon. With interest in marathon-running soaring by a whopping 214% in the past year, it’s estimated that a pretty staggering 1,309,014 people will be entering the ballot. And the likelihood of ballot-entrants getting their hands on one of those sought-after spots is just 4.6%. That’s around a one in twenty chance, in case you were wondering…
To put things into perspective for you – back in October, it was revealed that the probability of securing a Glastonbury ticket in this year’s main sale was 8.4% (approximately a one in eleven chance). Meaning that you are, in fact, more likely to bag a ticket to one of the world’s most outrageously difficult-to-get-a-ticket-to music festivals than you are to snap up a ballot place in the 2026 TCS London Marathon. May the odds be ever in your favour, folks.
As much as I don’t want to lessen my chances even further by telling you this; you can enter the ballot for the 2026 TCS London Marathon here.
