London is the place to be for students.
As a London-centric page, we are quite partial to banging on about how great the place is. But it’s also lovely to get some recognition from, like, official studies and rankings.
For the third year running, London has been named the best city in the world for international students to attend. QS Quacquarelli Symonds ninth ranking has seen London pip Munich, Seoul and Tokyo (second and joint third, respectively) to the post to claim ultimate bragging rights.
The list is created to help students across the world compare hundreds of study locations that have a population of over 250,000 and two universities or more.
Multiple factors are taken into account when creating the rankings, including university rankings, safety and affordability (um, sure). Moreover, it gathers views of over 95,000 prospective and former students to gain an understanding on the city’s desirability and level of student experiences.
Survey responses on London (just a reminder, we came top), highlighted the city’s “outstanding cultural, economic and educational opportunities”. Other cities that made the top 10 included Berlin, Melbourne, Zurich, Montreal and more. View the full list here.
