Listen up, Londoners – I come bearing some news that will, quite literally, brighten up your week. After what feels like an eternity, the sun is finally set to don its hat on Wednesday, as the temperature in the capital city is forecasted to soar into the double digits. Can you believe it?
According to Google Weather, on Wednesday (February 25), London will be basking in 16°C sunshine – making the capital city warmer than Barcelona (yes, really). The Spanish city will be experiencing highs of just 15°C on Wednesday. And whilst yes, I know that there’s very little in it; when you’ve spent the past six months wrapped in a blanket and clutching a hot water bottle for dear life, every teeny tiny degree counts.

If you’ve forgotten how to spend a sunny day in the city, we certainly wouldn’t blame you. It does feel like years since the sun has graced us with its presence. But fear not, folks – you’ve come to the right place. From picnic spots and walking routes to beer gardens and sunset viewpoints; we’ve got you covered. Although, I’m not sure if 16°C warrants us digging out our swimsuits and flip-flops just yet, but a girl can dream.
Now look, I certainly don’t want us to get ahead of ourselves. This is the UK, after all, so seeing is believing. But until the forecast changes, you can expect to find me stocking up on picky bits and tinnies, and scoping out the best al-fresco spots to enjoy them. And let’s just ignore that big old raincloud that’s heading towards us this weekend, hey?
