London’s already one of the world’s fashion capitals and over the next few days, the city’s style credentials will hit new heights as the biggest names in fashion flock here for Fashion Week.
Every February and September London Fashion Week (LFW) descends on the city and we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know.
What is London Fashion Week?
As the name suggests, LFW brings together the fashion industry’s best to showcase their latest collections. There’s a strong spotlight on British designers, while fashion journalists and style icons will be taking their seats in the front row (or the ‘FROW,’ as the cool kids say) to give their verdicts on the masterpieces.
This LFW marks the first since the British Fashion Council appointed a new CEO, Laura Weir. Speaking to Vogue she said “my core priority is to dial up London Fashion Week again. I think sometimes we forget quite how wonderful it is. There’s certainly a layer of fresh magnetism that we can give to the event itself.”
When is London Fashion Week 2025?
London Fashion week will take place from September 18-22 and will host 18% more shows than Spring/Summer 2025.
Where is London Fashion Week 2025?
As always, Fashion Week shows are hosted at iconic London venues, with landmarks like the Natural History Museum and Battersea Park being used in previous years. In more recent years, the main hub has been 180 The Strand, but since the pandemic the British Fashion Council has opted to include a more digital approach.
Where can I watch the shows this year?
While most in-person events are still invite-only, there are still lots of ways to get involved! Firstly, there are Citywide Celebration events that are open to the public, including a series of talks and panel discussions. And then there are the digital events you can watch from the comfort of your own home.
But we all know that one of the best things about LFW is watching the coverage on social media and judging what the celebrities and influencers attending the shows are wearing, whilst we sit in our joggers (the only way to be a true fashion critic).
What designers should I look out for?
From high-street brand H&M to Fashion Week staples like Burberry, there’s a real mix this year. Womenswear by Paul Costelloe, Mark Fast (who studied at Central Saint Martins) and Jenn Lee will grace the runway, as well as menswear from Rory William Docherty and Ahluwalia.
