May the 4th be with you. Tomorrow marks Star Wars Day across the world, and to celebrate the London Eye is doing its thing and lighting up the skies as a warning to all Jedis out there.
Why? Well, they’re donning the colours of the dark side—Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Count Dooku—and illuminating red, white and black across the skyline. It’s a special one this year, too, with it marking 25 years since the release of Episode I: The Phantom Menace, where we first encountered Darth Maul and his double-sider lightsaber.
Lighting up between 7:45pm and 6am, the force will be strong with all fans of Star Wars in London, and will just be another excuse to watch your trilogy of choice all in one go at the weekend, I guess?
Speaking about the occasion, Imran Tauqir, General Manager at the London Eye, said: “London may not be a galaxy far, far away, but Darth Vader and Stormtroopers visiting the London Eye certainly cements London’s celebrations this May the 4th.”
“Whilst the Eye hosts thousands of guests everyday, we hope all fans in London and abroad this Star Wars Day find their inner ‘Force’ and enjoy witnessing the illumination inspired by the villains of the Star Wars galaxy.”
