The London Eye will be shining a light on World Mental Health Day by lighting up purple tonight (October 10). Purple has become the symbolic colour of World Mental Health Day, signifying unity and togetherness in the battle against the stigma around mental health.
The landmark’s purple lights will represent its ongoing commitment to raising mental health awareness and the importance of talking about mental health and wellbeing. As the London Eye can be seen from across the entire city, the landmark and its purple glow will provide an important reminder for Londoners to take care of their mental and emotional wellbeing, and check-in on those around them.

Mental Health UK are passionate about spreading awareness and have many resources available to those who needs them. London is a bright, brilliant, but bloody overwhelming place. It’s never been so important to be kind to yourself and to everybody around you – when the London Eye reminds you to be, and when it doesn’t.
