The number of cases of coronavirus has increased from 480 to 620 in one day.
According to official figures, cases of COVID-19 in the capital increased by 29% in just one day.
Just yesterday, Boris Johnson noted that “it looks as though London is now a few weeks ahead… it’s important that Londoners now pay special attention to what we are saying about avoiding all non-essential contact.”
40% of all cases in England are in the capital, and half of deaths from the novel coronavirus over the past 24 hours were registered in the Greater London area.

However, bear in mind that currently, only severe cases requiring medical attention are eligible for testing. It’s thought the true national total could be around 55,000.
Over 75 major London venues have closed as a result of the crisis, after the government advised people to take more extreme measures to prevent the spread of the illness.
